The FC fiber optic connector is a single-core connector commonly used in fiber optic communications. Its external reinforcement employs a metal sleeve with a threaded locking mechanism, making it suitable for high-vibration environments. The fiber interface uses a ceramic ferrule with a spherical (UPC) or angled (APC) end-face. FC fiber connectors are currently primarily used in data communications, telecommunications, measurement equipment, and single-mode lasers.
